Responsible AI in edge computing is essential because it ensures that intelligent decisions are made directly on devices, safeguarding privacy and security. This localized processing minimizes the risks associated with data transmission, reduces latency, and enhances user trust. Moreover, responsible AI helps maintain ethical standards, promoting fairness and transparency in AI-driven decisions right at the edge. This synergy of ethical practices and advanced technology fosters sustainable and user-centric innovations in edge computing.
We are involved in several key areas:
- The EDGE AI FOUNDATION is a member of the World Economic Forum’s AI Governance efforts, representing edge AI technologies unique capabilities and impact as policy proposals are being formed
- We regularly participate in the United Nation’s ITIU efforts to educate policy-makers on edge AI technologies via online and in-person events, including the recent AI for Good Summit
- The EDGE AI FOUNDATION partners with organizations such as the UNICC to help steer community efforts into supporting the UN SDG priorities.
